Movement Interludes

Expressive Flows: Yoga-Inspired Sequences for Desk Professionals

Short flowing sequences that emphasize curiosity and personal expression rather than achieving ideal alignment.

Many movement practices emphasize correct form or progressive improvement. We have found equal value in approaches that prioritize curiosity and personal expression over any external standard.

Short Flowing Sequences

A typical sequence might move from a standing reach, through a gentle fold, into a low lunge variation, and back to standing — all performed slowly and with attention to what feels interesting on that particular day. The sequence can be repeated or modified in the moment.

Why Expression Matters

When movement becomes a form of self-expression rather than self-improvement, it is more likely to be repeated. The body is treated as a creative instrument rather than a machine that needs maintenance. This shift in framing appears to support both consistency and enjoyment over the long term.

These sequences are designed to be performed in a small space and in normal clothing. They function as creative interludes rather than workouts.
